Shigaku Sakura Road

This famous newly developed spot for cherry trees was created by local residents.

Planting of these cherry trees began in 2005 as a regional activation project of the Sanbe Shigaku area. With the cooperation of many local elementary schools, about 6,000 cherry trees were planted over a stretch of 7 km.
The “Sanbe Sakura Festival” is held in mid-April every year and visitors can view the cherry blossoms and enjoy local food and specialties.
